The announcement also includes figures for the new transport unit to deal with reckless driving and the new reaction unit.

Just before the reports were released, security guards working for private companies under the City of Joburg were protesting outside the City’s council chamber demanding answers from mayor Mashaba for alleged promises of insourcing which has not happened.

The security guards alleged that in May last year, Mashaba promised them that they will be insourced by the City which would have allegedly commenced on 1 July.
