Two serious accidents in Randburg over the weekend results in one fatality

RANDBURG – One person was killed in the first accident on 2 June on the R512 between Lanseria Airport and the N14 in Randburg – the driver of the second vehicle was not found on the scene.


Netcare 911 responded to two serious, separate accidents in the Randburg area over the weekend. The first accident on 1 June occurred on the R512 between Lanseria Airport and the N14 in Randburg.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst said that the collision involved two light motor vehicle vehicles. Paramedics assessed one adult male who had sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on the scene. The female passenger sustained serious injuries and was transferred to a nearby hospital to receive further treatment.

The driver of the second vehicle was not found on the scene.

The second accident occurred on 2 June on the corner of Bond Street and Main Avenue in Ferndale, Randburg where two light motor vehicles were involved in a collision. Paramedics found one male from the one car with minor injuries while an adult female and male in the other vehicle had also sustained minor injuries.

All the patients were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
