Alcohol Breathalyser donated to Safe Haven for women

FONTAINEBLEAU – Alcohol Breathalysers makes donation to The Angels Re-integration Centre for Ladies in order to help the centre care for women curbing different forms of addictions.

The Angels Reintegration Centre for Ladies received a donation of a breathalyser to the value of R1 999 accompanied by 100 reusable mouthpieces to the value of R699.

The sunny Monday morning set the tone for the breathalyser donation made by Alcohol Breathalysers to The Angels Re-initergration Centre for Ladies on 8 April. The centre is a newly established safe haven which caters to women who struggle with addiction and any women in need of protection. Manager and director of the centre, Bianca Vosloo, said that the breathalyser donation will help them to ascertain whether the women in the home are remaining sober. Staying sober forms part of learning the relevant coping mechanisms in order to reintegrate into society successfully.

The breathalyser was handed over by transformation director of Alcohol Breathalysers Julia Rakau to both Vosloo and fellow director Maria Philliou. Alcohol Breathalysers was founded in 2004 and their motto is ‘Saving lives! Saving licenses!’

The donation also coincides with Minister of Transport Blade Nzimande’s move to launch more efficient ways to gage alcohol consumption levels of motorists nationally, in KwaZulu-Natal.

The centre is a female-based business and is eight months old and is already attracting attention for investors. They welcome donations in the form of money and non-perishables. Their current major sponsor, VTC Africa, alleviates their financial burdens, however, Vosloo said, “As soon as we look for something, things come… it’s an amazing process”. The organisation is well on its way to officially registering as a non-profit organisation.
