The Honeydew police are appealing for information on two men who are wanted in connection with an alleged rape in Cosmo City.
A group of suspects armed with knives allegedly attacked a woman on Afghanistan Avenue and proceeded to rape her.
The victim was able to remember certain aspects of two of the suspects’ appearances, allowing the police to remake their appearance in an identikit.
Honeydew police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said, “The victim was gang-raped and the first suspect was the first to rape her. While he was raping her he told her to ‘behave’ in a most aggressive way.
“If you take a glimpse of the individuals, you can see that they are young. Normally, our suspects in these cases are over 35 years old. We are seeing an emerging trend where incidents like this are happening more and more amongst the youth. There is clearly a lack in the teaching of morals both in the community and at home, something needs to be done.”
Both suspects are believed to be between the ages of 18 and 19 and spoke Zulu and Tswana.
