ZANDSPRUIT – The Honeydew police responded to a murder in the Zandspruit informal settlement.
Honeydew Police Station spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said, “The victim’s face was totally burned beyond recognition. When investigating, we made inquiries around the area without any success… Unfortunately, nobody knows what caused the incident and the victim cannot be identified yet.”
According to Muthan, the incident occurred at the Mbhele section of the settlement at the soccer ground.
The victim is an unknown male estimated between 25 and 30 years old.
The victim’s body was found to be burned from the waist to his head.
Muthan said that all police role players were summoned to the scene and the case is under investigation.
The police are also appealing for any information from the public on the incident.
