Woman is critical after being hit by a car in Cosmo City
COSMO CITY – Paramedics who attended to the scene initiated CPR and the woman was then transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
A 27-year-old woman sustained multiple injuries after a light motor vehicle hit her and then she was crushed against a light delivery vehicle in Cosmo City at around 6pm last night, 20 February.
A statement issued by Russel Meiring in the communications office at ER24 read that the woman was found lying on the pavement, critically injured.
Emergency services, ER24 arrived on the scene and the paramedics evaluated her condition.
Meiring said that in an effort to save the woman’s life, paramedics then started cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced life support interventions. The woman’s condition improved after some time and she was thereafter transported to Charlotte Maxeke Provincial Hospital for further treatment, said Meiring.
The vehicles believed to have been involved in the accident were found parked at a distance.
Except for the injured woman, no one else was found to have been injured.
The investigation is on-going by the local authorities, said Meiring.
