WARNING: Protest action expected in Cosmo City tomorrow, 21 February
COSMO CITY – Motorists are advised to use alternative routes.
Protest action is expected to take place tomorrow, 21 February, in Cosmo City.
According to information received, a protest march has been approved and is expected to take place from the Itsoseng service road to Malibongwe Drive and then head to South Africa Boulevard.
Some on Twitter have threatened to ‘shut down’ Cosmo City tomorrow:
Malibongwe from Kya Sands to old Lion park road are no go zone from 4 am tomorrow. Cosmo city shutdown.

The protest is set to begin at 9am and will end at 12.30pm.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes if travelling to Kya Sands or going to Lanseria, past Cosmo City.
Lanseria Airport has also cautioned motorists to allow for extra travel time.
We have received news of possible protest action in the Cosmo City area for 21/02/2019. Malibongwe road might be affected. Please be vigilant, use alternative routes and allow extra travel time should this ensue.

The exact reason for the protest march is not clear at present but some messages on social media indicate that the protesters feel uncertain about their ward and will handover a memorandum.
