One of the city’s biggest and best fitness events is back – and the theme of The Discovery Jacaranda Spring Walk this year is ‘unfreeze’ your fitness goals and after the chilly winter we have had, we can’t wait to do just that!
The date is set for 8 September 2018 and this is the events 7th year and they have a brand new home too – Loftus.
We are looking forward to exploring the safe and scenic routes which includes a 5km and 10km run alongside the traditional 5km and 10km walks and; the 15km timed walk.
There is also something for the kids – the new ‘Mini-Mile’ has been added to get the whole family moving. Families can also enjoy a great atmosphere afterward with a food village at the stadium, big screens for the South Africa vs Australia rugby test match at 12 pm and great entertainment to enjoy after the event.

Music acts, including Jo Black and Prime Circle will bring you more music you love, whilst the Jacaranda FM presenters will lead exciting activities for young and old throughout the day. Participants can also use their RFID chips to record performance-times and personalise their race t-shirt.

According to Jacaranda FM Marketing manager, Minisha Patel, “There’s no better way for Pretoria to kick off the spring season, than with the Discovery Jacaranda FM Spring Walk. The new venue alongside increased running distances, novel kids activities, all coupled with more music you love, promises to keep families moving, excited and entertained throughout the day.”

Discovery’s Head of Experiential Marketing, Iona Maclean, says: “There is a fun element to getting healthy and active, and Discovery is proud to be sponsoring this event, which aims to make being active appeal to the whole family.’

Entries are open at R 160 for adults, R 110 for kids and R 110 for pensioners. Race pack collections open at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 September 2018, or race packs can be couriered in advance.
