What you should and shouldn’t do this Halloween

As the world prepares for Halloween, here are a few do’s and don’ts to remember.

 

Outfits:

  • Do – Halloween comes once a year so make sure you have a scary or funny costume that you are comfortable in.
  • Don’t settle for a planned outfit in the name of comfort. Spend some time looking for the best combination between a great and comfortable outfit.

 

Teamwork makes the dream work:

  • Do – Groups always get the most candy and attention, so make sure you and your friends do your research. There are tons of creative costume that groups can dress as, such as Clue Board Game Characters, The Addams Family, Game of Thrones characters, and superheroes.
  • Don’t – If you are going to be part of a group, make sure you match their effort. Play your part to make it work.

 

Society:

  • Do – Creativity is applauded while ignorance is frowned up. Make sure your costume won’t offend anyone racially, sexually, culturally or in any other way.
  • Don’t dress up as a different race or portray the opposite gender in an untasteful manner.

 

Props and accessories:

  • Do – The difference between a good and great costume, props and accessories? The add-ons make a costume stand out.
  • Don’t – Make sure your add-ons are not harmful to you and those around you. Don’t give your children real knives and weapons in the hopes of them having an excellent outfit.

 

Safety:

  • Do – Communication and visibility is key. Make sure your children are always in sight and if you plan to let them wander off with friend, ensure that there are efficient ways to contact and find them.
  • Don’t take Halloween as a chance to be home alone and ignore the children.

 

Candy:

  • Do – Parents, give as much candy as you can. Children, collect as much candy as you can.
  • Don’t – Parents, don’t give out candy that is known for causing health issues. Children, don’t eat all your candy in one go, there’s always tomorrow.
