Female body found along Jukskei River

JUKSKEI PARK – ER24 Paramedics found the body shortly before 7am on the morning of 9 October.

 

The body of a woman, believed to be in her 30s, was found in a ditch along the Jukskei River on Saffier Road on 9 October.

ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene in Jukskei Park along with another service, shortly before 7am after they were called by local authorities.

“It is believed that a jogger had spotted the body and had immediately called the authorities,” said ER24 communications officer Russel Meiring.

He continued and said on arrival, paramedics found the body of a woman lying in the ditch and the assessment showed that the woman had sustained a large wound to her neck and showed no signs of life.

“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for her and she was declared dead.”

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.

Douglasdale Police Station are now on a manhunt for suspect(s) as they investigate a case of murder.

Captain Mpho Tshetlhane of the station said preliminary police investigation revealed the deceased’s throat was severely cut with a sharp object and the motive behind the incident is not yet known.

“No one has been arrested yet and police investigations are continuing,” said Tshetlhane.

The police appeal to community members with unaccounted or missing relatives to come forward.
