A newly elected EXCO for the Randburg CPF

RANDBURG – Due to resignations, retirement and relocations, the Randburg CPF has elected an interim executive committee.

The Randburg Community Policing Forum elected a new interim Executive Management Committee at the Randburg Police Station on 17 September.

During the year, the quorum of the Executive Committee was not present due to resignations, retirement and relocations.

It was for this reason that CPF members felt it was necessary to set up an interim committee.

Interim CPF chairperson Daryl Currie said, “The Randburg Precinct has an Executive Management Committee (EXCO), as well as a committee for each of its three Sectors.

One of the first tasks of the interim committee is to workshop a ‘roadshow’, which aims to encourage community members to volunteer their time to assist with the fight against crime within our three sectors.”

The Community Policing Forum is a body legislated by Parliament to act as the intermediary between the police and the community.

The election process was overseen by the Department of Safety and Security, as well as members from the cluster CPF board.

The positions filled at this meeting were:

  • Interim chair – Daryl Currie
  • Interim deputy chair – Luis Ferreira
  • Interim secretary – Erica de Jager
  • Interim deputy secretary – Linda Bester
  • Interim treasurer – Theresa Fick
  • Interim public relations – Zuko Yena.

Details: Randburg Police Station 011 449 9110.
