British International School celebrates its cultural diversity

NORTHLANDS – British International Preparatory School parents, teachers and children had fun celebrating their diversity on 7 September.

British International Preparatory School celebrated its annual International Day on 7 September.

Children had the opportunity to move from classroom to classroom to learn about the various nationalities represented at the school.

Grade 7s wear traditional clothes representing their various cultures at British International Preparatory School’s annual International Day.

This involved a fun an interactive learning experience, with parents and teachers informing the youngsters of interesting facts about the different cultures, with plenty of snacks and other treats to enjoy.

Little ones donned cultural garb from the various cultures and enjoyed the singing and dancing from the welcoming assembly on the day.

Principal of the school Garth Thompson said, “As we are an international school, we have children representing 49 different nationalities and cultures. This day is held every year to celebrate each of these nationalities.

“It is a fun and educational experience to help others to learn from each other’s cultures at the same time.”

The international day keeps in line with one of the school’s core values – to celebrate and appreciate diversity.
