Aurora’s riders win big at Sanesa awards

SUNDOWNER – Aurora's horse riding girls were honoured on 22 June.

Dedication and tenacity ensure people end up winners.

The hard work that Curro Aurora’s horse riding girls put in has paid off in a fabulous fashion after their riders were honoured at the Sanesa Gauteng West Awards evening on 22 June.

At the awards, Curro Aurora High School was confirmed the leader in their category, winning the school shield for 2018.

Rae-kyndra Ragoobeer, in Grade 8, was awarded a trophy for finishing in 7th position in the Sanesa Top 10 High School Horse Riders for Gauteng West.

Aurora’s riders will now compete in a range of disciplines at the Sanesa regional finals, due to be held 28 and 29 July for primary school riders at Eaton Farm; and 4 and 5 August for high school riders at Kyalami Equestrian Park.

The Aurora riders from both the primary and high school who have qualified for entry into the regional finals are:

  • Rae-kyndra Ragoobeer in the categories of dressage, ‘prix caprilli’, equitation, performance riding, working riding, and in-hand utility riding.
  • Norika Goldsmith in the categories of dressage and showjumping.
  • Megan Ras in the categories of dressage, performance riding and working hunter riding.
  • Curro Aurora would like to wish all riders their very best for the regional finals tournament.
