The officers were from the Diepsloot Cluster and were travelling to a crime in progress when the accident happened on the afternoon of 21 May.

Captain Balan Muthan of Honeydew Police Station explained that of the six injured police officers, three have been discharged while the others still remain in Sunninghill Hospital due to their injuries.

He further explained that the cluster would organise the memorial service and they await further information.

The fatal accident took place after the Quantum minibus that carried the officers was tripped by a private vehicle which then caused the police vehicle to somersault.
