VIDEOS: Hoërskool Randburg wins the FNB Classic Clash derby

FONTAINEBLEAU – Randburg emerges victorious at this year's classic clash.

It was a sea of green and blue as the biggest school rugby derby in Randburg took place today, 12 May.

Hoërskool Randburg hosted Hoërskool Linden in this year’s edition of the FNB Classic Clash.

Supporters from both teams made their presence felt with loud cheering and fanfare.

 

Proceedings kicked off with a thrilling game between the U14 teams which ended 19 – 14 in Randburg’s favour.

It was then followed by the U15 match that finished off with another 26 – 14 victory in Randburg’s favour.

The second teams then got their chance to shine on the field and entertain the crowd. This time it was Linden who tagged one back as they beat Randburg 10 – 25.

The U16 boys were next on the field as their close encounter thrilled the crowd. The final result was 14 – 12 in favour of Randburg.

 

The best was saved for last when the main event took place between the first teams.

It was an affair of two halves as Randburg dominated the first half to blitz ahead to 26 – 10.

Linden clawed their way back into the match but it was too little too late and Randburg won the FNB Classic Clash 31 – 23.

2nd team: Aubrey Taole (Linden)

1st team: Maurice Marks (Randburg).
