Business chamber seeks to help small business

Small businesses, ranging from building services to media, filled the Jacaranda Room at the Randpark Golf Club for the Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and Lean Enterprise Acceleration Programmes (Leap) to share business knowledge with each other.

Leap brought together the RCCI and 15 small or medium-sized enterprises that they support to share information from legal and business experts, and also to learn how to network with a purpose.

Bongani Vilakazi, strategist for Leap said, “We place a strong focus on supporting small business integrating them into our current supply chain management… We are always encouraging other small businesses to join us and discover the benefits of joining a group such as this and to network and collaborate with others.”

Leap has partnered with the Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry and provides business support and access to markets and shared resources for entrepreneurs.

They also help with B-BBEE strategies and advise value-added services for their bigger business customers.

Linda Blackbeard, CEO of the Chamber said, “We are glad to be here today to share corporate support for our member Leap who support enterprise development for our SMEs for networking with a purpose and learning the critical needs of our SMEs.”

Vilakazi added, “The RCCI deals with a lot of small businesses and any other businesses in this space, so meeting with them and small business today is an ideal way to share valuable business knowledge and to network.”

Leap draws most of its funding from larger enterprises who wish to support and invest in smaller business opportunities.

“This is one event, of many, which we have planned to help grow small businesses, and we strongly encourage businesses who have not joined Leap or the RCCI to consider this amazing opportunity.”
