Donate to the Ann Harding Cheshire Home and stand a chance to win a VW Beetle

NORTHWOLD – There will be a raffle at the Ann Harding Cheshire Home in which a donated Volkswagen Beetle can be won.

The Ann Harding Cheshire Home is giving the public an opportunity to win a donated Volkswagen Beetle in order to raise much-needed funds for the organisation.

The Beetle was generously donated by a friend of the home’s chairperson and is up for grabs in a National Lottery sanctioned raffle.

The home plans to sell all tickets by the time the draw takes place on 29 March.

Residents Andre Alberts, Katherine Campbell and Beatha Machekera with the VW Beetle.

“What we have decided to do with the donations, despite desperately needing it in the home, is to purchase new vehicles for our residents to be transported in,” said Jackie Kyle of the home.

“Last year, we were gifted a VW Beetle 1.4TSI to be raffled to raise funds for the home. We decided to raise funds to purchase a new bus for our residents as the two buses that we have are both old with very high mileage, and are costing us a fortune in repairs every month.

“The competition is a great way for the public to get involved in a great cause and stand a chance to win something great at the same time.”

Between the 40 residents of the home, there are only two vehicles that are equipped for transportation. “Our current vehicles are quite old now and we really need this upgrade,” said Kyle.

Raffle tickets will cost R250 each and all members of the public are encouraged to take a chance to win.

If you would like to enter this competition, you can visit the Ann Harding Cheshire Home, 4th Road, Northwold, call Jackie Kyle on 011 792 3510, or email jackie@cheshirehomes.org.za
