‘Thanks for the support’ – KLC on bra project

LINDEN – Project Uplift continues into 2018 to support women with all their bra needs.

How uplifting it was for Kindness Like Confetti (KLC) to continue with its Project Uplift in 2018.

Last year the non-profit organisation took hands with ZaBra, an AfreeBra initiative which was initially launched in 2015 to collect new and second-hand bras for women who needed them most but could not afford them.

KLC took donations during October last year which was Cancer Awareness Month and collected over 500 bras for the project.

The response was so overwhelming and KLC founder, Alyson Samson, decided to continue with her own project – Project Uplift – which donated bras to local women in need.

To Samson’s surprise, Linden residents and the rest of the community she works with were not done giving and Project Uplift continues in 2018 to uplift even more women than before. Since the start of the project in October 1 000 bras were given out in total.

“Thank you to each and every one of you for donating new or gently used bras since October,” Samson said.

She is now urging those who still want to make a difference to get in touch with KLC and help uplift women in need. This time around, KLC will once again be working with ZaBra.

While a call was sent out for bra donations, Samson said that people also donated brand-new underwear with their bras as well as swimsuits.

“You know, with these kinds of projects one thing leads to another and then you sit with even more you can help the community with. I love it. I love that this is how people think.”

To get involved or to drop bras off for the project, WhatsApp or SMS KLC on 072 675 1536.
