A 37-year-old man will appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court soon after he was was arrested for murder on Monday morning.
He was apprehended by Douglasdale police after he allegedly stabbed a 37-year-old woman with a knife at her home in Kya Sand Informal Settlement.
According to police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan, the police rushed to the scene after being alerted about the incident.
Upon arrival, they found the victim lying in a pool of blood.
“She sustained several stab wounds on her upper body and was certified dead by the paramedics on the scene,” said Muthan.
The motive of the incident is still not known but police are investigating.
