A suspect was arrested in connection with the murder of a metered taxi driver in Ferndale on Monday 23 October.

The 37-year-old man will appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court after detectives have followed up leads gathered during their preliminary investigation.
According to police spokesperson Captain Johannes Maja, the suspect was arrested in Sandton.
A licensed firearm and ammunition were found in his possession and ballistic tests will be done to determine if this firearm was used to commit the crime.
The murder was committed on the corner of Pine Avenue and Harley Streets. The police visited the scene at 11.30am after they received a complaint about a shooting incident.
With their arrival on the scene, the police discovered the cab driver inside a vehicle with bullet wounds in his upper body.
The paramedics were summoned to the scene where he was declared dead.
