#Joburgbstorm donations – find out where to drop off supplies

JOHANNESBURG - Lend a helping hand to those affected by the #JhbStorm.

Caxton Local Newspapers is collecting supplies that will be donated to families that were affected by the hailstorm that hit through parts of Gauteng On Monday.

Hundreds of people have been left severely affected after a hailstorm lashed parts of Gauteng, ripping off roofs, uprooting trees, damaging vehicles and leaving some areas without power after power lines were uprooted.

Many motorists were stranded on the road for hours.

Krugersdorp, Cosmo City, the Joburg CBD, Sandton, Muldersdrift and Zandspruit were some of the worst affected.

The hailstones in some areas were reported to be the size of golf balls, causing severe damage to private property.

All supplies will be donated to those in need in the Westrand and Zandspruit.

What to donate:

Clothing, food, blankets, pillows, toiletries.

Should you wish to donate, please drop off  your donations at one of the following Caxton Local Newspapers offices:

  • 1187 Cornelius Street, Weltevreden Park
  • 368 Jan Smuts Avenue, Craighall Park
  • Future City Fourways  has also appealed to community members for assistance and they will be holding a collection drive tomorrow (11 October).
