Biker injured following a collision on the N1 northbound

Two motorbikes collided on the N1 northbound metres shy of the Beyers Naudé Drive onramp on the morning of 27 September.

According to ER24’s Russel Meiring, when emergency personnel arrived at the scene, one man was found lying in the far right-hand lane against the barriers.

“It is understood that the man had been driving in the right-hand lane when he was passed by another motorbike. The man’s leg then apparently got caught between the two [bikes].”

Paramedics assessed the man and he was found to have sustained a serious injury to his leg. “The man was treated and provided with pain-relief medication before he was transported to Life Flora Hospital for further treatment,” concluded Meiring.
