British International School chases after the fun

NORTH RIDING – British International Preparatory School children enjoyed a day being active with their parents and teachers.

British International Preparatory School put their running shoes on and spent the day under the glorious sun being active.

Principal of the school, Dr Garth Thompson said it was a wonderful day as everyone had fun.

“The children, parents and teachers couldn’t resist the temptation to get involved. Not even I could resist the urge,” said Thompson.

Madoche Tamba sprints down the track to come out on top.

The sports day marked the start of the weekend prior to the start of exams.

Thompson said it was clear that there was great value in exercise and the teachers also agreed that healthy children do better academically. “As a school, we embrace the value of excellence and we celebrate with each child their personal achievements, whether on the sports field or in the classroom.”

He added that they also celebrate participation and every child gets an opportunity to share in the activities at the school.

Principal of British International Preparatory School, Dr Garth Thompson enjoys a great run at the school’s annual sports day.

The principal explained that this annual event is one of many that children and parents look forward to.

“The parents were very energetic with so many mothers volunteering for the mothers’ race that it had to be run with two moms per lane and over five heats, while the fathers could only manage two runners per lane and three heats.”

Coaches from the school’s sports partner, Activ Ed, also got in on the action and showed everyone how it’s done.

“It was a great day and everyone got to home feeling that they had accomplished something, thank you to all involved.”

Children make a mad dash during the sports day.
