Trinityhouse raises R131 000 for Thandanani

RANDPARK RIDGE – Trinityhouse High School Randpark Ridge raised these funds for Thandanani House of Refuge through their awesome entrepreneurial skills.

Every year, Trinityhouse High School Randpark Ridge Grade 8s assist the Thandanani House of Refuge to raise funds by starting their own entrepreneurial businesses.

This year, these businesses were run over a period of four weeks and came to a close at the end of August. The Grade 8s worked exceptionally hard and had some very creative ideas, such as hosting high teas and golf days.

“Some pupils preferred to provide services such as car washing, whilst others decided to focus more on the ‘sweeter’ things in life selling tasty treats ranging from lemonade and snow cones to baked goods and even curries,” said the school’s marketing officer, Robyn Aingworth.

The children raised about R131 000 which excluded donations from companies.

Aingworth added that the funds would be used to cover day to day running expenses of Thandanani House such as providing food, fuel and clothing for the next two to three months.

“Pupils were also required to visit the Thandanani House and meet the pupils they were working for, inspiring them to work towards an even greater goal.”
