Get using JRA’s Find & Fix app

JOBURG – Shortly after its launch in 2014, the Find and Fix was awarded the Microsoft Application Development of the Year Award, Public Sector Industry Award and the Prestigious Managing Director's Award.

In a bid to be at the forefront of innovation and community engagement, the Johannesburg Roads Agency, the City of Johannesburg’s road infrastructure entity, is encouraging residents to download and use their Find and Fix app.

The app allows citizens to be the agency’s eyes and to report road-related issues.

According to their website, the app allows road users to report defects at the click of a button.

It was developed in 2014 and has user-friendly features that enable road users to snap, register the location and notify the agency of potholes, missing manhole covers, weeds growing on the road, defective traffic signals and other related infrastructural faults for urgent attention.

The City’s Metro Police Department launched a traffic hotline on 23 March. The hotline is a platform for motorists to report vandalism, accidents, broken-down vehicles, areas where traffic lights are down or areas where traffic is gridlocked.

Emergency operators will log calls from the public and refer complaints to the Metro police radio operators (of which there are at least four on shift at one time), who will dispatch officers to the affected area.
