Suspect growing dagga in yard arrested over Easter weekend in Juskei Park

DOUGLASDALE – Police arrests a suspect for farming dagga in his Juskei Park property.

A suspect was arrested on 17 April by Douglasdale police officers for cultivation and dealing in dagga at a property in Juskei Park.

According to the spokesperson for Honeydew Police Station, Captain Balan Muthan, members of the Douglasdale Crime Prevention Unit received information about dagga cultivation and acted on the tip-off.

“They [police] went to the scene and found dagga cultivated around the yard,” said Muthan.

He added that upon investigation, police officers found a dagga lab inside the residence and three firearms which belonged to the suspect’s father who passed away three years ago.

“A Ruby Revolver, TCZ Pistol 765 calibre and Times BSA rifle were confiscated by police as the suspect did not declare them,” Muthan said.
