Man bust with cat

BORDEAUX – A 46-year-old man has been bust by Randburg police for being in possession of drugs.

A man (46) appeared in Randburg Magistrates’ Court on charges of drug possession on 28 March.

According to the spokesperson for Randburg Police Station, Captain Makgowanyana Maja, Randburg police sector members received information about someone dealing in drugs in Bordeaux.

“On 26 March at about 9pm, the police sector members followed up on the tip-off they received earlier and noticed the suspect standing next to a gate talking on his cellphone,” Maja said.

He added that when the suspect noticed the police officers approaching, he ran into the premises and was pursued by the officers.

Upon cornering the suspect, Maja said the officers then requested to search him before searching the house where cat (methcathinone) and other drugs were found hidden.

Maja said the suspect was arrested and charged with drug possession.

The suspect appeared in court for his bail application and the matter was postponed for further investigation while the suspect remained in custody.
