Calling all matrics to enter the Mintek Minquiz

FERNDALE – Are you a maths and science boffin? Enter the Mintek Minquiz competition.

Gauteng schoolchildren are encouraged to enter the Mintek Minquiz competition which is a maths and science competition to be held at various centres across the country on 18 May.

Communications officer for Mintek, Elvis Tshweneyame said entries were open to all Grade 12 maths and science boffins.

“In the competition, participating learners write a preliminary multiple choice question test individually, followed by competing in a team during a live, onstage oral quiz that also has multiple choice questions,” Tshweneyame said.

He explained that winners in the provincial rounds of the competition would take part in the national round which will be held at Mintek in Ferndale on 18 and 19 July.

Tshweneyame pointed out that the winner of the provincial round of the competition would walk away with more than R72 000 in prizes for their school, and the winner of the national would win more than R40 000 as well as laptops and Wi-Fi tablets for themselves and their school.

Those interested in participating in the competition can download the registration form from www.mintek.co.za, fill it in and email it to minquiz@mintek.co.za.
