Local entrepreneur scoops international business award

Entrepreneur Menno Parsons believes that there is always a way to venture into business as long as you know what you are doing.

The founder and managing director of Master Power Technologies (MPT) was recognised by the Randburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) for his second international award.

The RCCI offered Parsons an opportunity to share his secret of success on 30 January in Ferndale. “There is always a way to get into business as long as you know what you are doing,” he said.

MPT won the international Frost and Sullivan Award for the second time. His fully fledged company, based in Strijdom Park, initially won this award in 2014 for their cutting edge modular data centre solutions and integrated management system.

Every year, Frost and Sullivan acknowledges and rewards companies, across 40 countries, operating in a range of regional and global markets for superior leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development.

The intent is to help drive innovation, excellence and a positive change in the global economy by recognising best-in-class products, companies and individuals.

Frost and Sullivan commended MPT on its technical expertise. They are recognised for technological leadership and their ability to anticipate their customer’s needs.

“We have created a backbone-integrated technology system which allows us to connect our customers remotely,” he said.

Master Power’s data centres empower businesses and government institutions to extend their services to remote areas. “It is not just a data centre, the reality is that there is a shortage of skills in Africa,” he said.
