Metro remove abandoned vehicles from Randburg CBD

RANDBURG CBD – Johannesburg Metro police remove an abandoned bus and two vehicles from Randburg CBD.

Johannesburg Metro Police have finally removed a bus and two vehicles which were apparently abandoned in Randburg CBD.

The vehicles were left in the area without any supervision for about a year. The bus, which was initially intended to travel long distance trips, was abandoned at Mikro Lane after it got stuck in the area. The bus was subsequently used as a shelter.

For over a year, Ward 102 councillor David Potter and the Randburg Central Improvement District asked Metro police to remove the vehicles, without success.

“Today I am pleased to report that an abandoned bus and two vehicles have been removed,” said Potter. He thanked the City’s metro police for taking action.

He said he was expecting more bylaw enforcement within the ward, including the removal of illegal A-Frame advertising trailers, especially along William Nicol Drive and Republic Road.

“With patience, time, energy and effort the City will come right. This will not all happen in days, months or even years but it will happen,” he said.
