Suspect caught red-handed with stolen goods

KENSINGTON B – A suspect will appear in Randburg Magistrates' Court after being found in possession of stolen goods.

A suspect is expected to appear in Randburg Magistrates’ Court in Kensington B on 9 January to face charges of possession of suspected stolen goods and housebreaking implements.

According to Captain Makgowanyana Maja, spokesperson for Randburg Police Station, on 6 January at about 11am, the CSS Tactical response team were patrolling in Ferndale when they spotted a suspicious-looking man carrying a bicycle and a black bag.

“The suspect was approached and the security guards recognised the bicycle from one of their clients. They summoned the police to the scene whereby the suspect was interviewed and it was established that indeed the bicycle was stolen,” Maja said.

According to Maja, inside the bag was a computer, running shoes, clothes and a cellphone.

“The suspect was immediately arrested and charged for being in possession of suspected stolen property and housebreaking implements.”

An investigation is underway.
