Knights Preparatory School Athletics at Sacssa Nationals

KENSINGTON B – Knights Prep athletes represented their school at SACSSA Nationals.

The athletes at Knights Preparatory School have had an incredibly successful start to their 2016 season.

The season began with 55 of their athletes competing at the Invitational Athletics Meeting on 3 September at the Tuks Stadium in Pretoria. Thirty-six athletes qualified to represent the G7 team at the South African Christian Schools Sports Association Athletics Nationals (Sacssa) in Sasolburg on 23 and 24 September.

Sacssa Nationals is a highly competitive event with provinces from throughout South Africa and even Zimbabwe competing. Over 1 250 athletes competed over the weekend, ensuring the fiercest possible competition.

The athletes represented their schools in a variety of track and field events. Knights’ athletes managed to win an incredible 13 medals for the G7 team over the weekend.

Following on from Sacssa Nationals, one of their pupils, Tafadzwa Ntshiqa, was included in the Sacssa team to compete in the Primary Youth Interprovincial Championships taking place at Kings Park Stadium in Durban on 19 November. Principal, Michelle McMenamin said, “This is an amazing achievement and we wish him all the best on his participation at this event.”
