Douglasdale Police Station welcomes new spokesperson

DOUGLASDALE – In addition to welcoming a new spokesperson, 14 police officials were also promoted at Douglasdale Police Station.

The new spokesperson for Douglasdale Police Station, Captain Bertha Kgasoane, is adamant that a good working relationship between police officers and community members will help in eradicating crime in the area.

Kgasoane is among the 14 police officials who were recently promoted to senior positions at the police station. The mother of two worked in the Gauteng Provincial Crime Prevention Unit prior to her new position. “I was there as a warrant officer. I feel quite overwhelmed now that I’m in a senior post.”

She indicated that she would continue to work hard and carry out all the necessary communication duties needed. “I will ensure the relationship with the community is strengthened.”

The spokeswoman explained that she would like to encourage residents to work with the police and report all incidents, as this would help eradicate crime, despite the challenge of lacking resources and manpower.

Details: Douglasdale Police Station 011 699 1333.
