Randpark Ridge water will be restored soon – JW

RANDPARK RIDGE - The planned water outage will end this afternoon.

The water outage affecting various streets in Randpark Ridge Extension 4 will continue until 3pm today (30 August), Johannesburg Water (JW) spokesperson Eleanor Mavimbela said.

Water is expected to be turned back on from between 3pm and 4pm today, she confirmed.

The water was cut to replace water mains and install new meters.

Residents in Jan Frederick Avenue, Pongola Avenue, Koekoek Road, Dale Lace Avenue, Ateljee Street, Sycamore Street and Wilves Street have been affected.

Level 2 water restrictions are still in place and should be adhered to.

Mavimbela said due to the colder weather conditions, the stipulated times that residents are not allowed to water and irrigate their gardens have changed to 8am until 4pm every day.

“We urge residents to remain active partners in reducing the amount of water used in the City of Joburg, and to report any form of vandalism and theft of water infrastructure to 0800 00 25 87. Residents are encouraged to subscribe, on our website, to our SMS notification service for alerts on planned or unplanned service interruptions,” she added.
