UPDATE: Vicki Momberg now faces 8 charges of crimen injuria

KENSINGTON B – #VickiMomberg case postponed for further instructions to her lawyer and a psychologist report.

Real estate agent, Vicki Momberg, will face a further seven charges of crimen injuria.

In her second appearance in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on 1 August, Momberg’s case was transferred to the trial court on request by Senior Prosecutor Yusuf Baba.

She previously appeared on 14 July, see the full story here.

In court four, Baba explained to the court that the State is imposing another seven charges of crimen injuria. The State has also given Defence Attorney Nardus Grové copies of the recordings that the charges will be based on.

Grové stated that he is still in the process of getting instructions from his client (Momberg). He asked that the case is provisionally postponed until 6 September in order to finalise a report from a psychologist as well as other particulars.

Outside the courtroom, Momberg stood next to her attorney. Momberg was not ready to speak to the media but has promised to do so in the near future. “It has been traumatic for her but she is dealing with the matter to the best of her ability,” added Grové.

Momberg is in court due to a video that went viral in which she can be heard shouting the k***** word many times. Momberg also rudely addressed police officers who were called to assist her after she was allegedly smashed-and-grabbed. The video was filmed near Bellairs Shopping centre in Randburg.

The nature of the additional charges remains unclear at this stage.
