WATCH: Facebook leaks incriminating footage of security company

NORTH RIDING - Security company acknowledges employee was an accomplice to a crime.

After a Facebook post received a lot of attention, the Londoloza Protection Group was put under fire for footage of one of their employees being an accomplice to a crime.

Clients of Lodoloza also reacted to the commotion on Facebook by praising the company for their professional and excellent service.

The furore started after an employee of Dracore Data Sciences at Northlands Corner Centre, Glenn Bryce-Borthwick left his work laptop in the boot of his car after work on 9 June and walked to the Pick ‘n Pay. On his way, Bryce-Borthwick passed a Londoloza vehicle, parked near his car.

Footage from the centre’s security cameras, which is not under the Londoloza Group, shows the vehicle pull up beside Bryce-Borthwick’s car. The passenger door opens and a man jumps out, goes round to the back of the car and then returns to the vehicle before the vehicle’s emergency lights is put on and drives away.

When he got home, Bryce-Borthwick realised his laptop and sports bag were gone. In the days that followed, the police were contacted and a case was opened at the Douglasdale Police station. Chantelle Fraser, the managing director of Dracore, contacted Londoloza, wanting the company to replace the stolen items.

“All we have wanted to know from the start was for the items to be replaced so we can carry on working as it has had an impact on the business,” Fraser explained.

The incident got a whole lot of attention once Fraser posted footage and commented on the incident on Facebook on 23 June to which Londoloza replied acknowledging the case and confirming that they are working with the police to resolve the matter.

Managing director of Londoloza, Ryan le Roux, said that he had not intended to upset Fraser when he had spoken to her and told her to ‘hold your horses’. Lodoloza has liability insurance that would pay out to replace the stolen items but time is needed to do a proper investigation and then finalise the correct paperwork for the claim to be processed.

Londoloza has an intense recruitment process and this is the first time in the company’s 10-year history that one of their employees has committed a crime. Le Roux confirmed that the now ex-employee has absconded and is on the run. Le Roux said the ex-employee will be blacklisted from the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority.

This is a developing story and more details will follow.
