A spree of armed robberies at businesses have taken Fontainebleau by storm.

Three armed robberies took place on the night of 31 May and occurred at Cleopatra Supermarket, Hydro Liquors and Johova Cash Supermarket. In all robberies, suspects threatened their victims with firearms.

Cleopatra Supermarket was hit at 6pm by three armed suspects. Hydro Liquors was robbed at 6.10pm by four suspects, two producing firearms. Both businesses are located on Rabie Road in Fontainebleau.

Johova Cash Supermarket, located in Windsor, was the third and final business that was robbed at 6.30pm by armed suspects, according to Linden Police.

In all of the armed robberies items such as liquor, cash, cellphones and cigarettes were stolen.

Linden Police operations manager, Captain Alex Vermaak, said, “Our officers warned the owners of Cleopatra Supermarket on Saturday, that their security needs to be improved due to their late operating hours.” He added that shops can close their doors when it gets dark outside and operate through a window.

In all three cases, a docket of armed robbery at business premises has been opened. “So far we have video footage and are currently investigating any possible leads pertaining to the robberies,” added Capt Vermaak.
