Three arrested after police chase

OLIVEDALE – Douglasdale Police arrest three suspects after a high speed chase.

Douglasdale Police, with the assistance of the Honeydew cluster police and the flying squad, arrested three suspects after a high-speed chase.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Balan Muthan said members of the public reported a car that looked suspicious.

He said that when the suspects were asked to pull over, they refused. “The police gave chase. There were four suspects in the car,” he explained.

It was discovered that the vehicle the suspects were traveling in, was reported stolen in Soweto.

Three suspects between the ages of 12 and 40 were arrested in Lima Street close to the Olivedale Retirement Village. The police confiscated house breaking tools and the stolen vehicle.

Muthan applauded the police for their excellent work and the speedy arrest. “The investigation continues. The fourth suspect fled into bushes. The police suspect that he is involved in house breaking incidents in the Douglasdale Police precinct,” he concluded.
