Things to do at Golden Harvest
GOLDEN HARVEST PARK – Not everything is as bad as it seems, the park shares its fun things to do.
With its acquired reputation of being a hotspot for crime, it would be hard to see all the good Golden Harvest Park has to offer. The park is not all bad however, and here are a few reasons why.
A drive around the park with Ward 101 Councillor Ralf Bittkau showed just how much beauty lies in the most unlikely of places. Councillor Bittkau lead a tour that showed off all the park’s gems.
Here are few things you could do at the park:
- For dog lovers, take you dog for a well-deserved walk after being cooped up in the yard all week. The park is vast and your trained dog can run around in nature.
- Keen on fishing? Then get your fishing rod ready and head on down to the lake. Though some parts of the lake are dirty, there are parts of the lake that are meant solely for catch and release fishing. Great way to de-stress.
- There is also a play swing for children to have blissful fun on while you watch and catch up with a neighbour.
- For those fascinated with birds, you will not regret heading to the park for some great bird viewing.
- Also, for those keen on getting fit and healthy, the park hosts a Parkrun every weekend which sees close to 500 people participate.
Councillor Bittkau concluded by sharing that what makes the park safe is because more people are using it. “The more people come and enjoy the park, the safer it will be as we will have the community working together alongside the park patrollers.”
