Randburg taxi rank joins World Cancer Day

RANDBURG –Taxi drivers get tested for World Cancer Day.

Join the fight against cancer on World Cancer day on 4 February by encouraging taxi drivers and commuters to get tested.

The Randburg Taxi Rank was visited by the South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) in partnership with Pink Drive and More Balls than Most [v]. The team were implementing FREE prostate testing/screening and breast screening.

It was free to all taxi drivers and commuters. “The reason for taxi activations is that we are able to reach the masses of the country as people from all walks of life utilise taxi services,” said Gail Walters of PinkDrive.

There will be further screenings and testing at other taxi ranks such as Baragwanath, Pretoria, Midrand and Germiston. This enables healthy lifestyles and also promotes good living standards for all South African citizens.

“This is a world cancer initiative, all around the world, various countries will be activating campaigns in commemoration with the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and also with the International Union against Cancer (UNICC) and World Health Organisation (WHO),” added Walters.
