Randburg police conducted an unexpected search operation at Bryanston High School on 21 January as part of the back-to-school safety campaign.
The Social Crime Prevention Unit (SCPU) sector managers teamed up with the Dog Unit to search if there were drugs and dangerous weapons at the school.
However, the police did not find any drug-related items during the operation. Sergeant Coekie Maphanga from SCPU addressed the pupils, especially those in Grade 12, about the dangers of bullying and using drugs. She warned pupils to refrain from such activities and rather focus on their school work.

Randburg police spokesperson Constable Stanley Bopape explained that the raid was part of their safety campaign to ensure that schools were clean and free from drugs and crime-related issues.
“The operation was part of our safe schools campaign to ensure that children are learning in an environment free from criminal activities and bullying,” concluded Bopape.
