Bodi suspended

JOBURG – Corrupt SA cricketer found to be well-known player Gulam Bodi.

Gulam Bodi has been named as the intermediary who has been charged under the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Anti-Corruption Code on 14 December.

It has been announced that, Bodi the well-known player of the Joburg based cricket team the bizhub Highveld Lions was charged early in December 2015.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) released a statement saying, “Bodi has been charged with contriving to fix, or otherwise improperly influence aspects of the 2015 RAM SLAM T20 Challenge Series.”

CSA chief executive, Haroon Lorgat said, “Mr Bodi is presently co-operating with the CSA Anti-Corruption officials. We now await his response to the charges and the matter will take its course in accordance with the process outlined in the Code.”

He has since been suspended under the article 4.7.1 of the Anti-Corruption Code. This means that Bodi cannot participate or be involved in any match, function or activity of any kind recognised by CSA or the International Cricket Council or the National Cricket Federation.
