According to Ward 96 Councillor Matome Mafokwane, firefighters are doing their best but, the blaze is too strong.
The blazing fire sweeps through homes.
“We have more than four Joburg Emergency fire trucks fighting this raging fire and it keeps blazing. Problem is that, they cannot go through because the shacks are built too close together,” said the concerned Ward 96 Councillor.
Residents try save as much of their belongings as they can.
Mafokwane added that people have lost their belongings and help is needed.
