A man gets robbed and assaulted in a taxi

PRESIDENT RIDGE – A man gets assaulted with a gun and stabbed in a moving taxi.

Chris Smalls was attacked and robbed inside a taxi from Brightwater Commons to Silver Pine Avenue on 3 November.

There were two men and an elderly woman in the taxi.

According to Smalls, before getting out of the taxi, the man in front of him turned around and cocked a gun in his face.

The man behind grabbed Smalls, stabbed him in his neck with a knife and told him to put his face down on the seat.

Small’s was slapped at the back of his head and hit with a gun.

“The two men took my bag which had my white Samsung cellphone, wallet, driver’s licence, bank card, lease agreement and house keys. The taxi stopped near Martha Street by Republic Road near Rabie Street. I asked them to let me go, and the guy with the knife said to the guy with the gun, ‘Do not shoot, do not shoot’,” Smalls explained.

He was released and is very grateful to be alive.

A case was opened at Randburg Police Station, and the docket was transferred to Linden Police Station.

Constable Carol Mulamu, spokesperson of the Linden Police Station said, “The case was transferred to Linden Police Station and we will get more information from Randburg Police Station.”
