KYA SAND – Various animals from Kya Sand informal settlements received much-needed healthcare from Kya Sand Community Veterinary Clinic.

The Kya Sand Community Veterinary Clinic provided much-needed care to the community on 31 October, by helping those who cannot afford basic animal care.

Veterinarian Karen Loots said the clinic helped the community of Pipeline Informal Settlement and Msawawa by dipping, deworming and sterilising their animals.

“We are trying to educate the community on the importance of caring for their animals and to make sure we sterilise the cats and dogs to prevent unwanted animals,” said Loots.

She added that they would also like to ask the community for any donations of pet food or anything else that could help them in looking after the animals.

Loots said the scheduled dates for donations is 31 October 2015, 21 November 2015 and 5 December 2015.
