GALLERY: Clean sheets for SA hockey
MALANSHOF – Road to success is bright for the South African men’s and women’s hockey teams.
Greenfields African Hockey Championship saw both South African teams securing their unopposed wins on 29 October at Randburg Hockey Arena.
SA women played Kenya in a great game of hockey.
The women charged onto the Astro with force and determination.
The beginning minutes of the first chaka were slightly shaky but had a promise for an interesting game.
Many of the goals were scored by conversions which have become synonymous with their game play.
The brilliant team work and precise passes dunked another clean-sheet win for SA women with a final score of 12–0 against Kenya.
SA men battled against the underestimated Namibian team. The game started with a clear competitive side from Namibia.
Throughout the match SA had to work effectively in order to score any goals. By half-time the score was 4–0 with SA maintaining their lead.
In the second half SA came back with a vengeance and safely netted goals to end with a final score of 11–0 against Namibia.
SA women will play Tanzania on 30 October
Semi-finals will be on 31 October and finals on 1 November.
