Department of Trade and Industry embarks on a counterfeit goods raid

RANDBURG CBD: The Department of Trade and Industry has embarked on a raid of various shops selling counterfeit goods in the Randburg area.

The Department of Trade and Industry embarked on a raid for counterfeit goods at various shops in the Randburg City Centre.

The raid was led by the Department’s Deputy Minister Mzwandile Masina who addressed the media at Randburg Police Station, on 15 October.

Masina explained, “We are going to raid the establishments and shops that are selling counterfeit goods in the arts and entertainment industry. Those materials are undermining the intellectual rights of artists and it is our responsibility to enforce the law.”

The department has joined forces with police, JMPD and various entities to raid various stores.
