Police bust prostitutes with drugs

KENSINGTON B – Four alleged prostitutes arrested for possession of drugs.

Four women between the age of 18 and 27 were arrested by the Randburg SAPS on 24 August for possession of drugs estimated at a street value of R8 000.

They were arrested after police received a tip-off about a certain brothel operating in the Randburg area.

“Police acted swiftly and searched the house,” said Randburg SAPS spokesperson Constable Stanley Bopape.

“On our arrival at the brothel we requested to search the house and found drugs. The suspects were detained and will appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court soon,” explained Const Bopape.

He assured that Randburg SAPS would continue eradicating the scourge of drugs in the precinct as the use and suppliers were leading to criminal activities.

Meanwhile, 29 motorists were arrested on the evening of 22 August for drunk driving during a joint operation by SAPS and members of the JMPD.

“They were expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 24 August,”concluded Const Bopape.
