Simba Mhere’s family lawyer talks

KENSINGTON B – Case postponed for more details to be given to the defense.

Preshalin Naidoo appeared again in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 23 July in connection with the death of Simba Mhere and Kady-Shady O’Bryan.

Both were tragically killed in a multiple vehicle accident on 31 January on William Nicol and the N1.

The driver of the other car, made his first appearance in court on 4 June on two counts of culpable homicide.

The case had been postponed to 26 June, in order for copies of the docket to be given to the defence. (See previous story).

On 23 July, defence attorney Satch Govender for Naidoo, agreed with Senior Prosecutor Yusuf Baba to postpone the case for further instructions to be finalised for council for the defence.

Mhere’s mother, father and sister were present in court and clearly a little shaken.

The case was postponed to 18 August for further  particulars to be given to the defence.

Ryan Harrison of RE Harrison Attorneys is representing both the Mhere and O’Bryan families.

“I will be acting as a watching brief for both families,” said Harrison.

This means that he will be reporting all the facts back to the families.

“We have been following the case from the police investigation to the prosecution,” he added.

The Mhere family declined to speak to the Randburg Sun.

Harrison said, “They are taking it day by day as they are still battling with the tragic loss of the children.”
