A man was killed and three others were injured in a car accident on the R512, Lanseria, on the evening of 6 July. ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak explained that a Toyota Corolla and a truck collided head on. “Shortly after 5pm, paramedics arrived on the scene where they found the mangled wreck of the Corolla,” he said.
“Upon further assessment they found that the front passenger of the vehicle was already dead. The driver of the vehicle was trapped behind the steering wheel and had to be freed by the local fire department from the wreckage. Once freed, the driver was stabilised and transported to hospital for further medical treatment.”
Vermaak added that the driver of the truck and another occupant, were treated on the scene for moderate injuries before they were also transported to hospital for more treatment.
